My vacation is just about over. Tomorrow afternoon I’ll be on a plane on my way home. I won’t be getting back to work until Thursday, but it’s kind of weird to think that a week has already come and gone.
I have to admit though, I think I’m ready to go back to home and get back to writing.
I’ve always found it hard to take a break in the middle of a NaNo session and then get back to the writing. Usually during November if I skip a day or two, I get flustered. My OCD doesn’t like the fact that my stats chart didn’t change for a couple of days.
Plus, depending on how behind I end up getting, I lose motivation to finish because I feel as though I’ll never be able to catch up.
It’s good to take a break though. It’s a good idea to pace yourself, allow your mind to rest and recharge. A week seems like a long time during a NaNo session, but since I’ve been working on so many projects this month, I think a break was definitely needed.
I wasn’t feeling burned out at all from any of my work either. I left for vacation late on the 10th so I had only been cramming words into my work for a little over a week. I’ll start writing again on the 19th and I’ll have another 11 days. This vacation was planned well right in the middle of the month allowing me to work during an even amount of time.
I certainly feel refreshed, though a little tired from walking too much and all the excitement. I don’t want my vacation to end, but I am ready to go home and get back to writing.
My only hope is that I don’t lose steam once I get back.
