Did you know I have an email list?
Did you know I started it back in… 2017? I think it was 2017. It seems so long ago now.
I started the email list because, at the time, I thought it was the “right thing to do.” If you want to be an author, if you want to be a successful blogger, you have to have an email list.
So, I created an email list. I failed with it. So, I brought it back. I failed with it again.
I think I tried starting an email list at least three different times and stopped each of them. I ran out of things to say, I didn’t know what to put in the emails that were worth-while for people to open… it’s a lot harder than it sounds.
But you know what I learned during this time? You do not need an email list to grow.
And yet… it’s back again.
Honestly, I’m amazed that people have still be signed up to my email list when I stopped it for practically a year or two. I’ve been inconsistent with it.
People have still been signing up too and, trust me, that’s been nagging at me every time I get a new sign-up.
I appreciate you people, though. I don’t know what to say but apparently, you care about it.
So, even though I’m saying you don’t need an email list to grow, I actually brought mine back.
Why? Because I think I have more to say and more to offer now.
Since I’ve changed some things on the blog I thought it would be a good idea to bring the email list back. This will be a new way for me to share some more things exclusively and also a new way to communicate with you guys.
What content is on the email list?
If you’re part of my email list already, then you should have received an email from me last week. I explained the new schedule and what sort of content will be in the emails, etc. (Plus, I updated the Project Planner!)
From now on, there will be two emails per month from me.
- In the middle of the month, I’ll send you guys an exclusive short story and/or blog post (similar to my old Patreon reward but now it’s free).
- At the end of the month, I’ll send you guys a general monthly wrap-up/update.
The wrap up will be any general news from the months along with any important blog posts or podcast episodes you might have missed. There will also be resources, book recommendations, etc. thrown in as well.
Occasionally, there will be a third email thrown in there depending on what’s going on. For example, if I have a new book coming out or some other big news then the email list will be the first to know about it. So, the big news will be thrown in occasionally.
Of course, there won’t be spam or anything like that. I know email lists can be annoying, especially if you’re part of multiple. I’ll do my best to keep the emails at a minimum.
