I’ve heard about Readathons through Jen’s blog, Combustible Reviews. She’s a fantastic person and wonderful book blogger, so go check out her blog and follow it if you’re not already.
She did a 24-hour readathon not too long ago (actually, I think it was a couple of months ago…) and I didn’t know about it until the last minute. Either way, I wasn’t able to participate because I had work and stupid life things like that.
I told myself that I was going to do my own readathon with my sister, Kris, over the summer because I wouldn’t have work or any other obligations.
We were going to do a 24-hour one, but the date we chose conflicted with life things… again.
We decided we’re going to keep the same date, but we’re just going to do an all-nighter instead of a full 24-hours. Let’s pretend we’re easing ourselves into the 24-hour one that we may try for at the end of the summer.
The readathon is hosted by someone over at their blog (Again, check Jen’s blog because I can’t remember.), but Kris and I are doing our own because we would love to participate, but just can’t do the dates that the readathon usually is.
We’re going to do this June 24-June 25, a Friday into a Saturday. This was the easiest date.
This whole thing doesn’t sound as cool as I think it is, but it’ll be fun and something different to do. I’m hoping to maybe read at least two books during the night. If I make it through the night. There’s no guarantee that I’ll actually stay up the whole night. Reading makes me sleepy.
Anyway, that’s what we’ll be doing this coming Friday-Saturday. Feel free to do it as well if you can.
It’ll be an interesting experience.
