This weekend was uneventful considering we had yet another snowstorm. I think we got another foot or so which means our yard has accumulated about… seven or so feet? Something around there. It’s a lot–it’s too much.
The storm happened yesterday so I didn’t do anything. I planned on getting some cleaning done, but that didn’t happen. I played video games just like anyone should on a snowy day.
Saturday was the biggest day this weekend. Kris and I went to Barnes & Noble. We haven’t been there in a couple of weeks due to snow storms and our writer’s group. We each brought a notebook and started something new. I’m taking a break on Detective Florence for the time being. I started a new novel in a notebook which may or may not turn into something… I got the idea from a short story I did from last November’s NaNoWriMo.
Saturday was also Valentine’s Day. Since we’re at Barnes & Noble (just about) every Saturday one of the workers there always sees us. We always say hello and have a quick chat. This time she came over to our table with a smirk on her face and placed two giant white bags down on the table.
Kris and I cautiously looked up at her and slowly peeked into the bags, but then she explained: “This is for my two favorite customers who are always here. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Free cupcakes!
Apparently B&N was having a Valentine’s Day special to buy four cupcakes and mix and match the flavors. I mentioned to Kris we should buy some (because we’re horrible daughters and didn’t get our parents anything…), but then we ended up getting eight for free! How nice was that? It certainly made my day!
And despite being horrible daughters, Kris and I then came home to this:
Chocolate and one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Thanks Mom and Dad!
Also, if you know me and Kris at all, I’m sure you could guess which box of chocolates was for who…
How was your weekend/Valentine’s Day?
