I received a review e-copy from the author. The decision to review and all opinions are my own.
In The Perfectly Fine House, we follow protagonist Donna Fitzpatrick in a world where ghosts are normal. So, when ghosts sudden begin to disappear, something’s wrong.
I love a good mystery and when paranormal elements are thrown in, it makes it all the better. I found this book to be so uniquely written with such a fascinating take on the paranormal world. I’ve never read anything like this. The plot had me turning the pages and always wanting to read more. I haven’t been this into a novel in such a long time – it was refreshing!
The characters were easy enough to get along with as well. Donna made for a strong main character and her twin brother, Kyle, was a delight. I didn’t have any quips with any of the main or side characters.
When it comes to a mystery, writing style is key. I found this book to be well-written in the sense that the mystery was simply to comprehend (as simply as a mystery can be, that is). It had me wondering and guessing but it was easy to follow along. The mystery wasn’t too complex, which was great.
Overall, I really enjoyed my time with this book and I’ll be looking into this author’s work more.
