I bought it the hardcover. The decision to review and all opinions are my own.
The stakes are much higher in Warriors: Dawn of the Clans: The First Battle. Clear Sky is power-hungry and Gray Wing just wants all the cats to live in peace. Through a misunderstanding, the first battle in Warriors history happens. The power of gossip is strong.
A lot happened in this book, other than just the first battle. New cats were introduced, kit were born, and there was, of course, death. My favorite character of this series passed away and yes, I did cry about it. I also cried at the end. Whenever a book makes me cry, I know it’s a great one.
One thing I want to mention though is the subject matter that’s being touched upon. In the previous book and this one, there are a couple of abusive relationships without actually talking about it. For this targeted audience, I found this to be a bold move but it’s handled in such a great way.
I can’t wait to pick up the fourth book and see where this goes.
