Happy Birthday!

Today is Kris’s birthday! I am officially four years younger than her now…until my birthday, that is. Kris works a lot and it’s very difficult for her to get a day off. She gets two days off a week, but every once in a while she’ll get a call on one of those days off asking her to come in because someone else called in sick or whatever. So, she did the over-night shift Sunday night into Monday morning and asked for today (her birthday) and Saturday off. She always has Sundays off, so she thought it would be nice to give herself a little weekend.

Of course, her boss told her that she would have to come in again on Monday to do the closing shift if she wanted the weekend–you know, in order to give her her full 40 hours. Kris said, “I don’t care!” So she has a weekend. She had today off in which we ordered out to eat, did presents, and had cake.

I got no writing done, but it was a good day! 🙂

A Lot To Do Or Just No Time?

Sunday School, Work, School, Write, Etc…

I have been very overwhelmed lately. I don’t know if it’s because I have a lot to do, or if it’s not that much, but I just can’t find the time to get it all done. Lately writing has kind of been on the back burner unless Kris and I go to Barnes and Noble and actually have a set day and time to get some writing done. I feel bad about not finding at least some time during the day to get some writing done.

My other sister, Lisa, and I run the Sunday school at our church together. I’m going to say this bluntly: people don’t like church. I don’t know what it is, but this generation is just not full of “church people.” My parish is very, very small. I like it that way, honestly. People say the more the merrier, but I hate large crowds. There are probably about 20 kids total in the Sunday school. I have the prek-k kids and Lisa has grades 1 & 2. Towards the end of the year, no one was coming so we ended up combining our classes. Each week, between the two of us, we’d have a total of four or five kids. The Sunday school consists of mostly younger kids (my class and Lisa’s class). The other two teachers do grades 3 & 4 and 5 and up. They never had a class because they’re kids would never show up.

To make a long story short, Lisa and I have been planning all summer to re-vamp the Sunday school. We found a new curriculum we think the kids will enjoy more as it’s more interactive with them. We’re thinking of ways to improve the snack and we’re going to add a show-and-tell each. For example, on the day we learn about Noah’s Ark, the kids will bring in a stuffed animal of their favorite animal. We’re hoping they’ll feel as though they have a job to do and will want to come to Sunday school. But this is a lot of work and a lot of planning.

Then there’s work. Work starts up again in about two weeks. I got back September 3 while the kids come back September 5. I’m going to be working 31 hours a week. That may not sound like a lot, but last year I worked 18 hours a week. I wanted more hours as I need to get myself through school. I’ll be babysitting whenever I can, too. I’m not complaining, but it’s going to take a lot of time away from writing.

School. School is going to take a lot of time away from writing. If I’m not working, I’m probably going to be doing homework. All I can say is thank God that I’m doing school online. I think I’d be screwed otherwise.

Then there’s cleaning and organizing. This is not a priority, but it’s still something that needs to get done. Kris and I are turning Lisa’s room into an office. We need to clean that entire room and organize it and all that fun stuff. Right now, my “office” is in the basement. I need to organize and clean everything down here because we’re most likely going to get rid of my desk (I bought a new one) and everything down here is going to go up there. This room is going to look so empty…then there’s my bedroom. Let’s not even discuss that.

I am going to write for an hour every morning. But because I’ll be home in the morning (since my school is online) I get the lovely job of getting my cousins ready for–and possibly driving them to–school. They get ready between 7 and 8. That’s the hour I have been writing for. Now that Jackie is going into middle school, she’s going to have to get ready earlier. They’re going to be at my house at 6:30. What am I going to do? Write from 5:30-6:30? I don’t think I can get up that early…I guess I could shoot for writing for just a half hour. If I have more time, I can always continue. But I like having the one, full, good hour.

But I guess I’m going to have to make due with what I have.

Back To Reality

I Can’t Type…

I disappeared for a week, yes. I can’t remember if I mentioned it or not, but I went away on vacation. It was very nice to get away. We had a cottage by the lake, but we didn’t swim very often. The weather was not on our side last week. But it was all good because Kris and I stayed in our room most of the week playing Pokemon and watching movies. We watched Wreck-It Ralph twice, Tangled about four or five times, and the Winnie the Pooh movie about four or five times. It was a good week. That, and we finally got our two cousins into Pokemon. They’re 11 and 9 and we’ve tried to get them into it before, but it never worked because they didn’t understand anything that was going on. They still don’t, but they’re getting through it.

It’s funny because Jackie, the one who is 11, pesters us with questions. She wants to learn everything about Pokemon and wants to do it right. If we tell her to do something differently, she hears us and tries not to do it anymore. For example, leveling up only one Pokemon instead of her whole team. Whereas, Katherine…she’s just going to have to learn the hard way. No matter how many times Kris and I try to tell her that she needs to level up all her Pokemon…let’s put it this way: she was in a battle with an NPC trainer for about two hours. Her highest level Pokemon fainted and the rest of her team weren’t at a high enough level. Not only that, but she does’t understand that she needs to go to the Pokemon Center before they faint. She thinks she’s not allowed to go there unless she entire team has fainted.

This just goes to show that slow and steady does in fact win the race. Whereas Kat is farther along in the game than Jackie, Jackie will probably be the first to beat the game because she’s actually going about it the right way. But at least they’ll both learn…eventually.

Anyway, the sub-title says “I can’t type.” Seriously, you have no idea how long it has taken me to write this post so far…being away from a computer for a whole week really takes a toll on my fingers. I checked my FanFiction e-mail and I have a lot of stories to catch up on for my beta-reading. I didn’t open a single one. I can’t type. How am I supposed to correct stories if I can’t type?

There was no wi-fi at the cottage, but my phone still gave me internet. It was great because I ended up playing my HeartGold version of Pokemon all week and I left the guide at home. I brought my Ruby and Sapphire guide because I had just started playing my Ruby over again. Apparently, I changed my mind. But I had my phone to look up the levels of the gym leaders and such. So I was saved.

But that’s not really the point. I was on the internet a great deal, but it was only my thumbs doing the typing. My other fingers got a vacation and now I’m paying the price. I have a lot of correcting to do for FanFiction, I have my own FanFiction to write and I have my own original novels to write. Of course, none of this is going to happen until tomorrow (at least) because my fingers need to get back into the groove of things.

Speaking of writing…Camp NaNoWriMo? What is that again…?

Ugh, yes, I know. I fail. But at least I got something written. Something is better than nothing, I guess. There’s always November…then April…then July again…and so on and so forth.

Well, I’m home now and it’s back to reality…starting tomorrow.

July Camp: Day One

Yay for Camp!!!

I have a lot to talk about today, so listen up:

1. My sister Kris and I decided to come up with some sort of schedule. It was actually her idea, but I thought of the idea a while ago (er, years ago). Of course, that was all mine was–an idea. I never even tried it for one day. But yesterday she came up to me and told me to help her stick with something. She showed me a “to do” list of hers. On that she stated she wanted to set a daily goal (words, pages, time, etc.) and do it every day. Monday through Saturday would be spent working on originals and Sunday would be FanFiction days. When I came up with this, I decided I was going to do FanFiction on Saturday and Sunday and originals would be Monday through Friday. I mentioned that to her and I don’t know if she’s going to do her way or my way, but either way we’re going to do it together. Since she asked me to help her make sure she completes this to do list, I decided that I’m going to do it, as well.

Yesterday, which was Sunday, we went to Barnes and Noble for our weekly writing session. I ended up working on my FanFiction because, well it was Sunday, a weekend day. For writing in a notebook, I got a whole lot done. Today is Monday (and the first day of Camp NaNoWriMo) so I worked on original. But since Camp started, I started something new instead of editing Hunter or Diary of a Lover or anything like that. I’m writing Cybertra. I’ll post the summary on here by the end of the month.

Anyway, I decided that I was going to write for at least one hour every day. The morning is really the only reliable time I have just to myself. So I decided that every day (all seven days of the week) I’m going to write from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. That started today. And man do I wish that I started something like this a long time ago! I had the most productive day! I woke up at 6:30, took a shower, made an iced coffee, and wrote while I had Raph getting her daily exercise and I got my morning caffeine dose. My timer went off on my iPod after an hour, I took Chip for a walk, then I got myself ready to go out. I had to babysit toady from 9 to 3. It was great. Not to mention that by 8, I was wide awake, felt refreshed, and ready to take on the day! If this was any other normal day, I would have woken up around seven, realized I needed to take a shower, but say “eh, I’ll do it tonight,” then count down until I had to leave the house all while moping around in my bed watching TV…I’m really not that lazy, but sometimes….

Right.

2. As stated, today was the first day of Camp NaNo. I’m going away this week (leaving Wednesday afternoon and coming back Friday afternoon). So I can write on Wednesday and Friday, but I’ll miss Thursday. One day isn’t bad. But I am going away again the last week of July. The 20th to the 27th. I’m going to bring a couple of notebooks with me and work on FanFiction that week. Yes, I will be breaking my schedule, but I can’t bring my laptop. So I decided that I want to try to finish Camp before I leave. That gives me 20 days instead of 31. Of course, I’ll still have a couple days when I get back, but still.

This means I should write 2,500 words a day instead of the usual 1,613. I wrote 1,616 today. At least I met the standard quota. If I didn’t have to babysit today, I probably would have written a lot more. I have to babysit again tomorrow (double time…9-3 with one family and then 4-7 with another family). Wednesday I’m babysitting, then leaving. Thursday I’ll be gone. Friday I can write when I get home. All next week I’m babysitting 9-1. It’ll be tough, but I think I can make it work. I can at least be able to make it to 50k by the end of the month, if not by the time I go on vacation. I will do it!

3. My novel is weird. Seriously. I had a completely different vision in my mind for Cybertra and it…well, it took an unexpected turn. Don’t get me wrong, I love where it ended up going, but I was shocked…and was laughing. A lot. I can’t post the summary yet, so you’re going to get lost when I tell you this, but…in the novel, the father builds robots to help people in need. Elderly people, police force, etc. He makes 100 robots at a time and when they all get shipped to a big company that sells them places, he makes a new batch of 100 robots. But, in the prologue, his daughter is six and wants to keep one. All the robots look exactly the same on the outside. The only way to tell them apart is by their personalities. And…well, one of them, the one they end up keeping, has a very different personality. He wasn’t supposed to be this animated. He was supposed to act more…robot-like, I guess you could say. So I can’t give you a summary, but here’s a small excerpt from the prologue:

“No, no, no! You must hold your pinky up. Haven’t your mother taught you any manners?” a small little girl wearing a pink, frilly dress with a sparkling tiara on top of her head, held up a small plastic tea cup. Her pinky was in the air and she tried to speak in a grown-up, mature tone.

“I have not had time to learn manners. My apologizes,”

The man poked his head through a door in the crack of where the young girl and her guest played on the floor of her bedroom. He opened the door a little more to see her smiling and laughing.

“Well, it’s a good thing you came here, then.” She giggled.

“Hannah?” he opened the door all the way.

She froze. Her eyes grew wide as she shifted them back and forth between both of the gentlemen in her room. Finally, she leaned forward and whispered something.

“Hannah,” the man sighed. He knew exactly what she was saying to her robot friend.

“Oh, right! The inspection!” the android jumped off of the floor. “Excuse me, Mr. Noel! I must go see Mr. Noel! I am late…I am very late!” he brushed right by the gentleman and disappeared down the hallway going to the basement.

Mr. Noel shook his head. He lifted his clipboard and muttered to himself. “Fix attention span on number four…”

Leo is what Hannah names him. He wasn’t really supposed to have a name, either. Oh, well.

Happy camping, everyone! 🙂

Too Busy For My Own Good

I Have Too Much To Do….

I believe in my last post I was complaining about everything that I had to get done instead of actually talking about my writing. Yeah…the problem is, I can’t really talk about my writing when I haven’t really been writing.

This past weekend was pretty busy. I can’t remember what I did Friday (isn’t that sad?), but I know that I was at work all day. Saturday morning I had to help my sister move into her new apartment. That didn’t take up too much of the day. Sunday, yesterday, was Father’s Day and the last day of Sunday school. So I had church in the morning and then I had my mom’s side over for a cook out. Then Kris and I  kicked back at the end of the night and played Super Smash Brothers Brawl together as we were both too exhausted to do anything productive.

I still have to start the websites for my work and for my church. I still have to start writing lesson plans for Sunday school next year. I have to clean my areas of the house and I have to continue writing. I have to study for my MTEL. I have to send in my lead teacher certification application. But wait, there’s more! …I’m not going to list any of the rest, though. None of this needs to get done as soon as possible or anything like that, but it would be nice to get them all finished sooner rather than later.

I did get a little writing done yesterday, though. Kris and I decided that we’re slowly going to work on a book together. So I wrote the prologue. Now she just has to write the first chapter. By the way, whenever this book is finished, it’s going to take a really long time to edit. Not because there are two people working on it; therefore there are two different opinions on what should happen, but we have no plot in mind. We are literally just going with the flow. Currently, the novel is called Titleless. Yep.

So I’m working on that, I’m still working on editing Hunter, I have to figure out what I’m doing for Camp NaNo next month, I have been beta-reading a lot of stories lately on FanFiction, and I have been kind of wanting to get back to writing FanFiction. I think I’m going to try working on that soon.

I do know what I am going to be writing for Camp, but I have a lot of kinks that need to be worked out. It’s a superhero novel called Cybertra. I think I have mentioned this idea before on here because I thought of it a long time ago. I just never went through with it. However, after seeing Iron Man 3 in theaters a few weeks ago, it’s put me in the mood to begin the series. I just have to plan a few things out first.

Other than me being ridiculously busy, I don’t think I have too much else to say since I haven’t really been writing too much lately. I plan on getting as much done as I can this week (this week is my last week of work). Then I can focus on babysitting (since I will have no work all summer, I’m going to need as many babysitting jobs as I can get) and writing. So, naturally, I spent all morning before work playing Pokemon and then Super Smash Brothers Brawl online with my boyfriend. Great morning, huh?

But at least I’m updating my blog. That’s technically writing, isn’t it?

Insert Interesting Title Here

I Have Nothing Witty To Say…

I haven’t been doing too well on keeping up with this thing lately, have I? I did a really good job updating practically daily when it was Camp NaNo. I tried to keep that up, but that hasn’t worked. Next month is July and it is Camp NaNo again, so I will most likely get back to updating daily, but then I’ll be going away for a week with no wi-fi. So…there’s that.

June is a busy month within it’s self. I have my aunt’s birthday, my cousin’s birthday, my nanny’s birthday just passed, and Father’s Day on top of that. I was happy that I didn’t have any graduations this year (even though I graduated myself). However, the spots where all the graduation parties would be quickly filled up because my sister is moving out with her boyfriend and my two cousins are moving in with my grandparents. So I have to help them all move from this place to that place and it’s going to be a lot. Not to mention that my house is going to go from seven people to four. Wow.

I have two weeks of work left, which isn’t bad. But I have to find time to prepare for the second session of Camp as well as continue editing my novels. I sent one children’s book to a publisher and I won’t hear back for three months. It’s an exclusive submission, so I can’t do anything with that story for the next three months. I’m in the process of finding more agents and publishers for my other children’s book in hopes to send that one out to multiple places while I wait for the other one.

My sister Lisa, the one who is moving out, she and I are the directors of our Sunday school at church so we need to get planning for next year’s curriculum. Not to mention that we have a dinner going on at my church in the middle of July and we have one to plan for August. It’s a lot of work.

My other sister, Kris, have to start websites for our church to get more people to come in. We’re the only ones who can do it because we’re the only ones who are computer savvy. We also need to start a website for my work. The preschool I work at is connected to my church and the church owns the preschool. Me being a teacher’s assistant at the preschool and the director of the Sunday school, I have many connections. Therefore, people ask me a lot of questions.

Kris and I go to Barnes and Noble once a week to write together. We can’t this week because her day off of work is Saturday and that’s because we need to help Lisa move. Obviously, that’s no issue, but I have no idea when I’m going to get some quality writing time in. This is one reason as to why I can’t wait for work to be done for the summer. I’ll be babysitting a lot, but I’ll still have a lot more free time on my hands than I do now.

Oh, did I mention that I’m trying to get into college for my Bachelor’s next semester? Yeah, I have to do that, too…I applied, at least. I just have to make the trip to my previous college to have them send them my transcripts.

I think my head is going to explode. I’m going to go write now…

Day Seven

Productiveness Is Upon Us….

There is no picture today because I forgot to take one. Sad day. 🙁

However, I had a fantastic day today! I don’t know about the rest of you. I got a lot of things done. I am exhausted out of my mind, but I feel great! I wrote a lot today for Camp NaNo and my sister and I re-organized our room. We still need to do a bit of cleaning up and organizing, but we made a pretty good dent and I have to say that our room looks great!

Back to writing, though…I wrote a total of 5,016 words today! I started at 20,002 words from yesterday and I wanted to make it up to at least 25,000 before I stopped for the day. I have 25,018 words for Saving Each Other so far! Yay for me!

I explained how this “novel” is going to work, right? Well, I’ll explain again just in case I didn’t in an earlier post…I planned on the Three V’s Prophecy (it’s a working title) to be three series long. Each series would have a total of five books making fifteen books. Of course, that was way too much. My sister gave me the idea to turn it into a trilogy. Each “series” would be in one book. So each book is going to have parts. The first part of the first novel is Saving Each Other. So, as you may have guessed, Saving Each Other isn’t going to be long like any ordinary novel. I plan on each part being between 25,000-50,000 words long. So if each part is 50,000 words long, the whole novel (all three novels) will be 250,000 words long. I have no idea how many pages that would be, but it’s going to be big. Did that explanation make any sense?

For Camp NaNo I plan on finishing the Saving Each Other part and then finish Take Over. If, by some miracle, I finish both by the end of April I may or may not continue onto the next part, which is called Seeing Things. Of course, that depends on whether I’m sick of the characters or not. I may start a new project instead.

That’s all the news I have for today. Tomorrow is Monday and it’s also day eight, which means that we’ve officially survived an entire week of Camp NaNo! Go us! I plan on writing another 5,000 words and hopefully making it to 30,000 by the end of the day. I have a four hour gap between school and work I really hope to get it all done.

Good luck on week two everyone! 🙂

Day Five

Sad Day….

HunterThis is Hunter. He seems to think that he and I are in a relationship with one another. He constantly wants to cuddle, he follows me into the shower, and he waits up for me when I’m out and don’t get home until midnight. He sits in the window sill and waits for me. When he sees me pull into the driveway he runs over to the door. He’s better than Chip, my dog. She runs up to me with tail wagging and before I can even touch her, she runs away and goes back to bed.

Even on the nights I stay home, but my boyfriend is over, Hunter still waits up. My boyfriend and I will be saying our goodnights for the night and Hunter will just be sitting directly behind the two of us. Just waiting for me to shut the door behind my boyfriend as he leaves.

This morning, I was trying to get some things done the computer. I was eating egg salad and coffee while he sat on the table right behind the computer. I’m typing and I hear little licks. I look to my side and what do you know…Hunter thought that we’ve taken that step in our relationship to share food together.

“NOO!!” I screamed mostly because egg salad isn’t good for him. So I take it away. While I’m rinsing the bowl in the sink I turn back around and he’s drinking my coffee. Like, really? That’s my coffee, man…

So I take the coffee away from him. He won’t stop meowing at me…it’s been a half hour.

I thought I would share this story with you because usually when I’m writing, he tends to be right up my butt along with Raph, my turtle. So I thought this was appropriate. Also, I knew I was going to have nothing to say because I am not going to be writing today. If I don’t write, then I have nothing to say on my blog and I wanted to update this thing.

The reason I am not going to be writing today is because I am just simply too busy. I have homework that I have not done in a very long time because…well, homework is stupid. I have work in about two hours and my sister is sick so I might have to take her to the doctors before I go to work. That, and the kitchen is a mess…someone should clean that up.

So I probably do have time to write a little bit right now, but I don’t want to get interrupted. I have work 11-6 today and then my cousin’s birthday party is 7-9. It’s her friend party and she’s turning 11, so she’s excited; therefore I have to go. So if I’m going to write at all today it’s not going to be until late tonight. In which case I will just update my word count tomorrow in my blog post.

Tomorrow is my cousin’s real birthday and I have no idea what we’re doing for it. I don’t know if we’re celebrating it tomorrow or Sunday or what, but if I’m not doing anything tomorrow and if I’m not too tired, I might as well write straight through the night tonight, I don’t care. I think it would fun.

Anyway, we’ll see if I get any work done tonight…I hope everyone else isn’t too busy today!

Update This And Update That

I Have Important Things To Say….

I have no idea where to start! I have a lot to say and I don’t know if I’m going to remember it all. I had Starbucks today and I am extremely wired! Seriously, ask my sister…and my mother…I was bothering them both. Singing, dancing, making weird noises, walking funny, yelling, laughing, falling on the floor, being loud…true story.

ANYWAY, I have three things to talk about…at least that’s all I can remember that I had to talk about…

First, Spilled Ink is back up for business. About two years ago, my sister and I started a writing website. Life got in the way and we kind of let it die. However, we wanted to get back into it so we made a new website for it. We came up with some new ideas for it, kept some old ideas and scrapped the rest of the old ideas. We hope the website grows a lot and is very successful.

Let me tell you a little about it: There are prompts, tips, writing races, co-authoring, and a role-playing section. There’s a place where members can review and discuss books they have read. Also, each member has their own board where they can post their own stories and other people can review the stories. You know, give feedback and critique. The link is on the Come Find Me page of this blog, but here it is again: Spilled Ink. Please go check it out and if you like, go ahead and join. We’d love to have you. 🙂

Next, I was thinking of adding more to this blog. My sister gave me this idea a while ago and I have been thinking of doing it ever since. I just never got the chance to actually do it. I was thinking about it more today and I think I’m going to really do it. However, I want to get your opinions anyway. So, if you don’t mind, please comment on whether you would enjoy this and want me to do this: once a month, I was thinking of doing a volg (video blog, for those of you who don’t know). So, once a month instead of posting words, you’d get to hear it straight from my loud mouth. Wouldn’t that be awesome? I don’t know when I would actually start doing this, but I thought I would throw it out there and see if you guys would like that or not. Of course, if the majority of you say no I may do it anyway. 😀

Third, I guess I should update about my actual writing, huh? I have been writing bit by bit each day since my last post. Since my last post I have written 7,659 words on Take Over. I plan on writing a little more tonight, but I probably won’t get the chance to update this later tonight and tell you all how wonderful I have been doing with my writing! I’ve been a good girl lately. 😀

I guess I do have more to talk about…fourth, my sister and I went to Barnes and Noble today (hence the Starbucks). We were looking at writing books when we were supposed to be writing. I have been thinking a lot about my future lately and I decided that it’s time that I really start looking for publishers. I have two children’s books written and ready to leave the nest. So I found one of those books that lists publishing companies, agencies, magazines, etc. I wrote down a few publishing companies that represent picture books. So, while I finish Take Over, edit Hunter and Diary of a Lover, and write Saving Each Other for Camp NaNoWriMo, I’ll be sending my two picture books off to publishers.

Also, Writer’s Digest sent me a thing in the mail about their annual writing contest. I’ve done it before (and lost, obviously), but that was two or three years ago. I think I’m going to try to do it again this year. I think I’m going to send in a poem. I don’t write poems often, although I would like to. I wasn’t going to bother with the contest again this year, but the other day, in math class of all places, I thought of a poem idea. I think that was my inner muse saying, “Do the Writer’s Digest contest!” Because seriously, when do I come up with poem ideas?

Anyway, that’s that. Send my picture books to publishers, polish off my young adult novels, prepare for Camp NaNo, finish Take Over, do the contest…I have a lot on my plate right now. But I like it. I have wanted to be an author since I was ten and I finally want to get started on it. Meanwhile, I’m going to promote myself as much as possible. So follow me on here, on Twitter (the link is also on the Come Find Me page), and on my other Spilled Ink website. Then sit back and watch me succeed. Because I’m going to make it no matter what. 🙂

50,000 Even

I Shall Dance Now!

You know how I said that I wanted to make it to 50,000 words on my novel Take Over by April 1st before Camp NaNoWriMo starts? Well, I actually did it! I was at 30,056 or something like that and on Tuesday I wrote 10,070 words and on Wednesday I wrote 9,874 words! I made it to 50,000 words even and I hope to continue until the beginning of April!

The funny thing is that I’m almost almost done with the novel. I had about four more parts left to write and then I think that’s it. So it shouldn’t take me too long to finish. I want to continue writing it until April so I think there is a good chance that I actually can finish the novel before Camp NaNo starts. However, I am not going to push myself. I got lucky with writing about 20,000 words in just two days.

I’m on Spring Break this week, but I still have work. Monday we had a snow storm during the night so I had a snow day at work on Tuesday. That’s why I was able to write so much. It took between four and five hours, but I made it to 10,070 words. I think that has been the most I have ever written in one day. I never posted on here after I accomplished that because when I finished it was about ten o’clock at night and I was exhausted. Not to mention that my wrists were killing me.

On Wednesday, my sister and I went to Barnes and Noble to write for a little bit before I had to go to work at two o’clock. I got up to 48 thousand and something words after being at Barnes and Noble for about three and half hours. So I was determined to make it to that 50k that night when I got home from work because it was just another couple thousand words.

In other news, I figured out what I am going to be writing for Camp NaNo! I’m going to be writing Saving Each Other. Yes, I already wrote that, but it died along with my flash drive. It’s still fairly fresh in my mind so I thought that I could re-write it from memory. The novel kind of sucked anyway, so maybe this will go a little better. I have a ton of novels planned out for this series, but (and I think I already said this when I first wrote the novel) I’m going to condense it all. I have three series for it, each series being five books long. I’m going to turn it into a trilogy and each novel will have all five parts in the one book. So the books will be fairly long, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully it will all work out in the end.

It’s Friday morning right now and I wrote this post Wednesday night…but I had to modify it because before I could post it because Wednesday night my laptop decided it wasn’t going to talk to the Wi-Fi anymore. So it would be kind of weird to post something on Friday that talked about “yesterday” being Tuesday and “today” being Wednesday.

I have work today (yes, Friday) from 11:00 to 5:00/6:00. Then I have this Family Night thing to go to that’s happening at my cousin’s school. Yipee for me…but it was fun last year, so I’ll try to think positive about it even though I really don’t want to go. In any case, I’m going to try to get some writing done this morning before I have to go to work. I have about two hours. Then maybe later on tonight I can get something done. The only thing is that the Family Night ends between nine and ten at night, so who knows how tired I am going to be by the end of that…especially working six or seven hours with itty bitty children all afternoon.

Wish me luck in finishing a novel in literally a month without it being NaNo! 🙂
