Day Eighteen

Big News…

I know that I skipped the blog post yesterday, but yesterday was my dad’s birthday…and I may have played Pokemon for, oh I don’t know…five or six hours? However, I did write 1,260 words yesterday. It’s better than nothing, right? I wrote those words for Seeing Things.

Today was a better day. I wrote 3,504 words to Take Over. And guess what? Take Over is completed! You guys don’t realize how happy I am that I finished it. Now, as I continue for Camp NaNo for the rest of April, I can focus on just one novel. That novel being Seeing Things, even though it’s just “part” of a novel.

I have to say this: 2013 has been a pretty big year so far. I made a resolution to write a lot more and I have actually been keeping up with that. I finished the first part of a novel (Saving Each Other) in about two weeks. Saving Each Other, I just printed out the part today, is 119 double-spaced pages with 35,076 words. Seeing Things and the other three parts of that novel are going to be just as long. This novel is going to be a big book.

I finished Take Over in about five weeks. I estimate that because I started it at the beginning of March and stopped writing it for Camp NaNo. However, when I picked it back up again it only took me an extra four or five days to finish. Take Over is 219 double-spaced pages with 70,642 words. Now it’s onto the fun part…editing.

So I completed 1/5 of a novel and a whole novel in less than two months. Now I’m onto the second part of a novel I hope to get a good dent it in by the end of the month. I’m putting those words towards Camp NaNo. Which, by the way, from today’s word count and yesterday’s word count is up to 44,069.

I had planned on writing more today because that 3k was written in school this morning. However, I had to babysit (like I do every Thursday), but I ended up going to their house an hour earlier and leaving two hours later than I usually do. I’m not going to explain, but things are chaotic at their house at the moment.

Not to mention that I have a ton of homework. As I said before, it’s the end of the semester so all my teachers decide to give out everything now. I have three chapters worth of homework in math as well as a project, I have two science projects, and I have a essay for my student teaching class as well as write up a few lesson plans. Although, the lesson plans are optional so that’s the last thing on my mind. There’s three weeks left in the semester and all this stuff is due one right after the other. It’s a pain. I quit.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a good writing day. I hoped to get to 50k today, but oh well. Maybe tomorrow. Or Saturday. The worst part is that I’m in a big mood to play Pokemon, so hopefully I can just use that as an incentive to get my homework and/or writing done. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I was very close to skipping my science class on Tuesday, but I told myself I would get myself Starbucks if I went to class. And I did. I was happy.

Okay, today exhausted the crap out of me so now I’m just kind of babbling on…I’ll see you all tomorrow!

50,000 Even

I Shall Dance Now!

You know how I said that I wanted to make it to 50,000 words on my novel Take Over by April 1st before Camp NaNoWriMo starts? Well, I actually did it! I was at 30,056 or something like that and on Tuesday I wrote 10,070 words and on Wednesday I wrote 9,874 words! I made it to 50,000 words even and I hope to continue until the beginning of April!

The funny thing is that I’m almost almost done with the novel. I had about four more parts left to write and then I think that’s it. So it shouldn’t take me too long to finish. I want to continue writing it until April so I think there is a good chance that I actually can finish the novel before Camp NaNo starts. However, I am not going to push myself. I got lucky with writing about 20,000 words in just two days.

I’m on Spring Break this week, but I still have work. Monday we had a snow storm during the night so I had a snow day at work on Tuesday. That’s why I was able to write so much. It took between four and five hours, but I made it to 10,070 words. I think that has been the most I have ever written in one day. I never posted on here after I accomplished that because when I finished it was about ten o’clock at night and I was exhausted. Not to mention that my wrists were killing me.

On Wednesday, my sister and I went to Barnes and Noble to write for a little bit before I had to go to work at two o’clock. I got up to 48 thousand and something words after being at Barnes and Noble for about three and half hours. So I was determined to make it to that 50k that night when I got home from work because it was just another couple thousand words.

In other news, I figured out what I am going to be writing for Camp NaNo! I’m going to be writing Saving Each Other. Yes, I already wrote that, but it died along with my flash drive. It’s still fairly fresh in my mind so I thought that I could re-write it from memory. The novel kind of sucked anyway, so maybe this will go a little better. I have a ton of novels planned out for this series, but (and I think I already said this when I first wrote the novel) I’m going to condense it all. I have three series for it, each series being five books long. I’m going to turn it into a trilogy and each novel will have all five parts in the one book. So the books will be fairly long, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully it will all work out in the end.

It’s Friday morning right now and I wrote this post Wednesday night…but I had to modify it because before I could post it because Wednesday night my laptop decided it wasn’t going to talk to the Wi-Fi anymore. So it would be kind of weird to post something on Friday that talked about “yesterday” being Tuesday and “today” being Wednesday.

I have work today (yes, Friday) from 11:00 to 5:00/6:00. Then I have this Family Night thing to go to that’s happening at my cousin’s school. Yipee for me…but it was fun last year, so I’ll try to think positive about it even though I really don’t want to go. In any case, I’m going to try to get some writing done this morning before I have to go to work. I have about two hours. Then maybe later on tonight I can get something done. The only thing is that the Family Night ends between nine and ten at night, so who knows how tired I am going to be by the end of that…especially working six or seven hours with itty bitty children all afternoon.

Wish me luck in finishing a novel in literally a month without it being NaNo! 🙂

Busy-ness

This, That, And The Other…

Well, it has been almost (ish) a month since I have posted on here. I remember that my last post I mentioned that I was going to write all weekend (because we had that blizzard) and that I would post again right after the weekend. That went well, didn’t it?

Actually, it did. I wrote during the weekend. I didn’t write as much as I wanted to do and I certainly didn’t write as much as I had the time for, but something is better than nothing, right?  I have been writing off and on since then. I’m working on a new novel. Yes, another new novel. I’m not working on The Blank Page anymore. Since I lost my flash drive, I haven’t really been encouraged to write anything that I had already started.

This novel is called Take Over. I thought of the idea while I was at work and then forgot about it. Then while I was in the shower a couple of days later, I thought of it again and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I came up with ideas and characters and everything. It was a fun shower.

I’ll post the summary to this novel at a later time, but the basic of it is that a group of high school students plan take over the school. Not in a mean, bad way, but only because they’re seniors and they want to leave the school as “legends.” They don’t mean anything bad by it, but it soon gets a little out of hand and it’s a riot…teachers versus students. This is what I have been writing lately and it’s coming along quite nicely. I’ll get into more details about the characters and such later, as well.

I decided to switch up my New Year’s Resolution a bit. I decided that I’m going to try to write at least 1,000 words a day. So I should have about 365,000 words by the end of the year. So by the end of February I should have about 59,000 or something like that. Since I wrote a lot of The Blank Page, I’m going to include that word count because I did write it during 2013. So that, (plus what I have for Take Over so far) equals to 27,802 words. A bit behind, yes, but I think I can do it because I don’t usually end up writing just 1,000 words at a time.

I have 12,663 words for Take Over and 21 pages. Hopefully it keeps up going at the rate it’s going. 😉

Sad News

I haven’t updated this in a while with very good reasons…

1. Everyone knows that we switched from Verizon to Comcast, correct? Well, the internet still refuses to work. It’s getting pretty annoying. I can’t use my laptop at all. I can’t use it to work on my websites, I can’t use it to update this, and I can’t use it for school. My dad is bringing my laptop to a guy to completely clean it out because it had a virus on it a year or so ago. All the other laptops work (sometimes), so we’re wondering if my laptop still has some bits of the virus on it and that’s why it refuses to work. So I’m going to be out of a laptop for a little while…well, I already have been out of a laptop.

I’m using the school computer right now so–I hate to say this–it’s a good thing that I go to school five days a week. I need to get absolutely everything done at school. It’s such a pain, though. The only thing I can use my own laptop for it for writing on Word. Which brings me to the worst part of this post as well as the other reason as to why I haven’t updated in so long…

2. My flash drive broke. My sister tried to fix it and the computer guy my dad knows tried to fix it. It’s completely dead. The guy said he could fix it, but the software would cost 800 dollars. He said he could ship it to Brazil so it would be cheaper, but…I said no. That’s too much. My uncle is going to try to fix it, but I really have my doubts that it will work. We’ll have to see, but I’m pretty sure it’s gone.

It really upset and discouraged me. All of my novels were on there. I didn’t have any other back-ups to the novels because my computer had gotten the virus. Along with school work, Sunday school stuff, and website stuff, this is everything I lost:

  • Hunter — I printed it out to edit it, so worse comes to worst, I’ll just have to type it up again.
  • Hunted — The sequel to Hunter…I was half way through it and now it’s gone.
  • Diary of a Lover — I printed this out to edit it, too, so again I can just type it up again.
  • Saving Each Other — My 2012 NaNo that I finished last December…100% gone. I had no back-ups and none of it was printed out…I have to start from scratch all over again.
  • The Blank Page — It wasn’t finished, but as you all know, I have been working hard on this one a lot. Now I have to start completely over again.
  • Asking Bobby & Ashley’s Day at the Aquarium — Both of these are printed out, so they’re safe.
  • Fast Friends — Didn’t get too far in this one, but at least it was better than nothing…now it is nothing.
  • Echo — I was almost done with this one…gone.
  • Last Friday — I wrote this in a notebook and I had one more chapter left. Typing it up took me a really long time and now I’m going to have to do it again…at least it’s not completely gone.
  • The Others — My very first NaNo and the only one I every won. I never finished the novel, but I only had one or two more chapters left…another one gone.
  • Far Away — A love story I started, re-started, and re-started again…I got pretty far with it and now that’s gone, too.
  • Diary of a Killer — Didn’t get too far, but I really liked where it was going.
  • A Job to get Done — I loved this one. I was over 50 pages into it…gone.
  • Pyro — The origin story of my muse…the one and only character who speaks to me while I write. He popped into my head long before I even decided to make him a character in a story. I have no idea where he came from, but now I have to write his story all over again.
  • The Battle of Cooper’s Place — A script I wrote for Script Frenzy…it was my first one and I won. It sucked, but now it’s gone.
  • Halfway to Heaven — Another script I wrote. I loved this script. I was going to turn it into a novel, too…now I have to re-write that whole thing.
  • Four Fathers — A TV show I based off of a Ninja Turtles FanFiction I wrote. It was coming along pretty well.
  • All of my FanFiction stories…which was somewhere in the 100s, so I can’t even list them all to you.

And there you have it. 18 stories lost…there were more, but they were only a page or so in so they weren’t really important because they were small prompts and such.

I cried. I’ll admit that. I was thinking of everything that I lost, all that time and imagination I spent on those stories…and they’re all gone. I have to say that it was a real eye-opener for me, though. That saying is really true…”you never know what you have until it’s gone.”

So I decided that not only am I going to keep up with writing more, I’m going to focus more on finishing everything that I start. Looking at that list, I had a ton of ideas and characters roaming around in my head. So I think it’s time to jot down small ideas instead of switching completely over to a new novel. I have a new novel in the works at the moment and since I’m in the mood to write it, I think I’m going to start off with that one. I still have a lot of planning to do for it, but that’s alright. In the meantime, I can start editing some novels…well, just Hunter and Diary of a Lover since those are the only novels I have left at the moment.

But now I think about it, I have a ton of novels that are started in notebooks…I should really go through my notebooks, huh?

Anyway, let this be a lesson learned for all of you! I have no idea how my flash drive broke, but I had two (well, now one). I should have put everything on both. I’ll keep that in mind for next time. So I’ll try to writing again as soon as possible, but I kind of need to wait until I get my laptop back. I think my dad is going to call Comcast, too…even though everyone else’s work, they still go on the fritz sometimes. Hopefully this will be the end.

Not Productive

Today Was A Bust…

Today my sister and I went to Barnes and Noble. We went about our normal routine; we went to Dunkin’ Donuts for breakfast, Starbucks for drinks, and Barnes and Noble to write. However, we weren’t there for any more than an hour when my dad called. We switched from Verizon to Comcast today and with Comet and Chip at home, he didn’t want to shut them in the bedroom and listen to them bark all afternoon. My sister and I ended up going home and taking the dogs to Nanny’s house where we stayed for about an hour and a half. They have no wi-fi, either so we couldn’t work on our writing at all.

By then, the guy was still at our house, but I had to go to work. So we went back to my house, leaving the dogs, I grabbed my things and went to work. When I got home from work, I had to re-connect the internet and now my laptop is being extremely slow. I assume it’s just trying to get used to the new connection, or I’m hoping so anyway. However, I am in no mood to write now.

While we were at Barnes and Noble, I did write a tiny bit, but it was under 1,000 words. And I never wrote yesterday, so I feel like I’m a bit behind. And because of that, I’m beginning to get annoyed at my writing. I have three novels completed and never bothered to edit any of them.

Well, that’s not true. I’m on the seventh draft of Diary of a Lover, but I never once edited Hunter, which I finished back in August of 2011. Saving Each Other I just finished less than a month ago, so I’m not going to get back into that just yet…I’m kind of sick of those characters.

However, I do have three children’s books that are completed, edited and all, but I don’t bother trying to get them published. Why? I don’t know. That’s what I think I’m going to do when I finish this post. I think I’m going to try searching for publishers and such. At least if I get those three children’s books out there, I would get my foot in the door for whenever I publish a novel, the extra money would be a plus, and maybe it would motivate me a little more to get something else out there.

I asked my sister to edit Hunter the other day. She hasn’t started, yet, but I’m hoping that once she edits it, it will motivate me to edit it and keep at it. Honestly, I wrote that so long ago I don’t even remember what happens in the book. It’s quite sad.

I told myself that, because I’m so into The Blank Page right now, I’m going to finish it. Then once I finish it, I’m going to work strictly on editing for a little while. I know my new year’s resolution was to write more, but editing is a big part of writing, even if I’m not adding word after word after word. It’ll suck because I absolutely hate editing, but if it needs to get done, then I’m going to get it done.

I’m not going to write anymore tonight because I am just not in the mood and I know if I force myself, I’m going to mess up the entire novel. Hopefully, I’ll get back into it tomorrow morning. I had a good routine going: I woke up early every morning, worked on my websites for a bit, wrote for an hour, and then posted on here. I have not done that since Tuesday…but Tuesday I had no school and no work and nothing to do, so I kind of wanted to take advantage of the fact that I could have stayed in bed for the entire day. With all the crap I have been doing lately, no one can blame me for that.

On a good note, I did start my resolution about reading more. Does everyone know the series Warriors by Erin Hunter? Well, there are so many books that I have lost count, but I do have most of them. I have read a few, but I decided to re-read them…especially because one of my RPG websites are based after this series. Last year, I read the first five books, so I decided to start reading them again starting with the sixth book. If I didn’t have work or anything else going on in my life right now, I would have finished it the day I started it. But we’ll take baby steps.

I’ll talk to you all tomorrow…hopefully after I write for an hour. I have work at 1:30 tomorrow, so if I get up early enough maybe I can do a little extra. That would be nice!

“The Blank Page” Characters

Adair’s A Freak, Justin Lives Under A Rock, And Dominic Is Actually Normal…

Can we talk about my characters for a minute? I wrote half of chapter four today and I quickly realized how…interesting (for lack of a better word) my characters are.

In chapter four, Adair bothers the two boys to read a little of their stories to each other so they can see what each other has so far. I have quickly realized that all of chapter four they’re just going to be talking about Adair’s novel. Each chapter is their next meeting, which is only an hour and a half long. With the conversation they’re having about Adair’s novel, there is no way they’re going to be able to talk about all three novels in an hour and a half. Especially since when they started talking about her novel, they already only had an hour left.

In my last post I mentioned that I might plan our their novels a little bit. Well, I forgot to do that and I remembered when I was crawling into bed. So needless to say, I never planned out their books. As I wrote chapter four, I made everything up as I went along. I had Adair read her opening sentence and ask the boys what they thought about it. Well, I can tell you what I thought about it…it was crap. I read it over and over and over again and I said to myself, “Adair is completely weird.” I wondered what goes on in her mind and then I realized…Adair is me. I’m the one who wrote that sentence for her.

Justin rewrote the sentence for her, which came out a lot better, but Adair was pissed because her sentence was 41 words long and Justin’s re-write was 24 words. Then Justin was appalled because he can’t believe her biggest concern is the word count. And Dominic is just sitting there, along for the ride because he doesn’t want to get involved because he’s smart and normal.

But then Dominic and Justin both grilled her about this novel because it is the strangest thing ever. This is what we found out about the novel: Cerridwen is the main female, Zindel is the main male, the novel is in Zindel’s POV, they live in a forest, the plot of the novel is that the forest is in trouble and Cerridwen and Zindel need to save it, Victor is the bad guy, Cerridwen has the power of earth because she apparently is not human and evolved from a plant…which is why she has vines attached to her hair, and Zindel has a power, but we don’t know what it is, yet. Completely strange/ridiculous/I don’t even know what to call it, right? So Dominic and Justin are trying to make sense of this whole novel and are hoping that she changes it drastically. I’m just sad because my mind was capable of coming up with something like this.

Then throughout the whole chapter, Justin is freaking out about the names. I had Adair use obscure names because that’s just something she would do. But Dominic keeps pronouncing them wrong and Justin is just angry because Adair has names like that when she made fun of him for naming his main character John. Plus, Justin is wondering why the bad guy, Victor, has a normal name. On a random note: Justin lives under a rock. So far throughout the novel, Adair has mentioned Mario and Princess Peach, Link and Zelda, and The Sims games. He had no idea what she was talking about for all of them. He is a 27-years-old man and has never played video games…there is something wrong with that picture.

And the chapter isn’t even over, yet…

So, like I said…interesting characters, right? There certainly is never a dull moment with these guys. I have to give them some credit though because they really are fun to write.

The Resolution Begins!

Dun, Dun, Dunnn!

Hello everyone! Last time I said that my New Year’s resolution was to read more and to write more. Well, I didn’t start the reading one yet, but I started the writing one today! Go me!

Today my sister and I went to Barnes and Noble to get some writing done. We haven’t gone in a long time, so it was reall nice. Except the escalator broke…we has to walk up ourselves, which was fine but then they decided to fix it while I was in the bathroom. So the down escalator worked, but when I got out of the bathroom and tried to get back to the second floor, it was blocked off. I was sad because I had to use the elevator and I hate elevators…but I shared it with a lady and her two- and three-years-old daughters and her baby. So it was an interesting ride up.

Well, that was completely off topic…so I got some writing done today and it was then that I thought of treating January like a NaNo month. So I divided 50,000 by 31 days and I have to write 1,612 words a day. So since today was the second of the month I had to get to 3,226 words or so something like that. I made it to 3,435…I actually don’t remember the exact number, but it was something like that. It as over 3,226 and that’s all that matters.

I also started a new novel. This is because I just finished Saving Each Other so I have to write the next part, which is Seeing Things. Except I need a little break from that plot, the characters, the whole story. So I looked at my to do list page on here and I noticed that I had told myself to plan/outline The Blank Pagewhich is the first book of the Writers Group series.

I was in the mood to write it (which I was extremely happy t because I am usually never in the mood to write whatever I have to get done) and I could tell because I wrote a lot and I had an extremely fun time writing the first chapter. I came up with a lot of ideas for the book while writing the first chapter and I’m also in love with the characters.

Writers Group, I may have explained before, is a series about three people who met on a writing website and meet in person to write their own books together. The series is about them going through the ups and downs of writing together. Plot paths, character development, editing, you name it, they go through what all us writers go through. And with these characters, it just makes it fun and hysterical. Justin, the oldest is nice, but gets frustrated easily. Dominic is the gentleman and the peacemaker between the three of them. And Adair…well, she’s special. She’s young, she has a mind of her own, she’s very outspoken and…oh yeah, she’s a MAJOR coffee addict. It’s great.

With that being said, The Blank Page is about them meeting for the first time in person and starting their novels together. I’m really into it, so (as long as I have the time) I don’t think I’m going to have any trouble getting to 50,000 words. Honestly, I love his idea so much that I might actually finish the novel in the whole month…again, if I have the time. But we can keep our fingers crossed!

So that’s that. I still have to figure out the reading part of this whole resolution, but right now I’m really excited about the writing part and that’s taking up a lot of my brain at the moment. Also, I just thought of this now, I think I might keep a track of how many words in write this year. I’ll keep track on here, except I’ll put it in tomorrow’s post on account that I don’t know the exact amount of words I wrote today. I’m on my iPod right now, not my computer.

So I think that’s it for now…I will update with more tomorrow! 🙂

Day 3

8,262/50,000 Words

I ended up writing a little more yesterday after I updated my blog. So I ended up with 6168 words. That was an extra two thousand words, so I should have been all set for today, but I wanted to keep up that two thousand words a day pace. So I am now up to 8262 words.

I just hit page 28 of my story. Technically, I just got on page 27 because the first page is the title page, but whatever. I have no chapters. I am just writing the entire story and then when I edit for the first time, I will break the story into either chapters or parts. I’m not too sure yet. The reason I’m doing this is because when I wrote the outline, I noticed that some chapters would probably be about two pages while other chapter would be about twenty. I understand that it doesn’t matter how long or short a chapter is and that it doesn’t necessarily have to be equal, but my OCD kicked in and it bothered me. So we’ll see how it goes on my first edit.

Anyway, I have to get some more homework done and I sadly have to babysit tonight. Normally I wouldn’t care about babysitting, but I’m still not feeling up to speed with this dumb pneumonia, so we’ll see what happens. I agreed to babysit tonight a couple weeks ago, which was before I got sick and I feel back cancelling especially since this is a child at my work and I have been in work all week. Oh, well. I don’t know if I’m going to get a chance to get anymore writing done today, so…hopefully tomorrow I’ll be able to hit ten thousand. Unless I get it done when I get home from babysitting.

I don’t know. Good luck with your own NaNo everyone!

About One More Week

NaNo starts next Thursday. That gives me a little less than one week to finish my outline for Saving Each Other. I know that I started working on this outline around the beginning of October, but I have been busy with a lot of other things. For example, homework. Not to mention that I have a little more homework now because I skipped school this past Wednesday.

Yes, I am sick. Therefore, I have not been working on anything at all. No writing, no homework, no nothing. I haven’t even been able to go hang out with my friends. The only thing I have been doing is playing Pokemon Conquest and I have to say that I am getting very far in the game. Well, I also have been going to work, but that’s only because we’re short-staffed and I hate calling out of work in the first place.

I’m angry because I only have science class on Mondays and this upcoming Monday my science class was cancelled. No school for me! Which is a great thing because I’m sick so I can have an extra day of the weekend to sleep in. Well, I checked my e-mail last night and guess what? Math class is cancelled for today. Fantastic, yes? Not at all…we have to “make it up.” And guess when we have to make it up? Yes, on Monday. -_- So here I am in the library at school waiting around until 10:30 for my science class. I guess for today it’s good because having one class is better than two. But on Monday…one class is definitely not better than none.

Yes, I am at school waiting around for two hours for my class to start that I don’t even want to go to. I’m coughing up all my insides, wheezing, I’m exhausted from lack of sleep, and I’m a bit dizzy. Of course, I can’t miss this class because then this would be my third time skipping this class this semester and that would mean I would have to attend all of November…let’s face it, I am not going to attend all of November whether I’m sick or not. I’m going to go to class early and talk to my teacher about missing Wednesday and I’m really hoping that she’s like, “Oh, Rachel you look awful! You should go home and get some rest.” And then I’m home free. That could happen…right? No, probably not.

Here’s a funny story for you: yesterday I came to school for my Health class. On Thursdays Health is the only class that I have. My professor is very weird and awkward. She’s in her 50s (I think) and all she talks about is her boyfriend. His name is Steve. I shouldn’t know that. Anyway, she can be nice when she wants to be, but if she doesn’t like you, she makes it known. For example, she talks to me just fine and I could actually have a normal conversation with her if I wanted to, but all the other girls at my table…well, we can just say that my professor is very bitter towards them. If they’re talking while she’s talking, she’ll call them out on it. If anyone else in the class is talking while she’s talking, it’s as though she doesn’t notice.

But enough about that, I got to class at 8:45 yesterday when class starts at 9:00. It was just the two of us in the room and I was coughing:
Professor: “Rachel, is that you I hear coughing over there?”
Me: Well, there’s no one else in here, so I guess so… “Yeah, that’s me.”
Professor: “Do you have allergies or are you getting sick?”
Me: “I’m sick.”
Professor: “Oh, that’s too bad.”

And that was the end of that. Now here’s the real kicker; about…maybe five or six times during the course of the class she kept asking me if I was okay. Whether I was coughing or just sitting there paying attention to her talking about absolutely nothing, she would interrupt herself to ask if I was okay:
Professor: “Now what that means is–Rachel, are you okay?”
Me: *Completely confused* “Yeah?”
Professor: “Anyway, what that means…”
And again…
Professor: “If you work–Rachel, are you sure you’re okay?”
Me: Can you just leave me alone? “Yes.”

And then at the end of class she says to me: “You know, you really do look lousy.”

…Thanks. -_-

Anyway, I really hope no one says anything to me today because then I’m not going to be a happy camper. I already feel like crap from being sick. I have to get myself through this school day and then get myself through work…with ten children today. I have an extra one. Yipee…yesterday I was trying to talk to the kids and the more I talked the softer my voice got because I kept coughing so I was losing my voice. Eventually the kids turned around and walked away as if they were like, “We don’t know what you’re saying, so we’re just gonna go now…bye.”

Let’s hope that this is an easy day for me and that I don’t have to do much at all. Except I have to finish that outline and do some homework. Meh.

So Close

Well, I have been slowly but surely chipping away at my homework for November. I would like to get this done so I can solely focus on NaNoWriMo and actually maybe win this year. Of course, my professors could always add on more homework at short notice, but at least I will have the bulk of it done. I think that makes things a little bit easier.

I have written a little bit more of the outline for Saving Each Other (SEO), but I don’t think that it’s anywhere near complete. As I stated not too long ago, I have the plot finally figured out…now I just have to figure out how to actually get there.

Do you want to know my newest problem? Of course you do, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this right now…my biggest problem has not been that I don’t know how to finish the outline, nor am I worried about finishing it on time for NaNo. I am not worried that I will not get my homework done before it begins, and I really feel confident that I will do well this year. No, my biggest problem is this: I have begun to play The Sims 2 once more.

Does everyone know what The Sims games are? The game where you creates homes and families and build them up so they can get good jobs and money to buy everything they want and make babies? Well, whenever I begin to play this, I play it non-stop for about…I don’t know, maybe a month? Maybe more.

However, I guess I could use it as an incentive. If, for example, I am still wanting to play Sims a lot during the month of November, I can always tells myself, “I am not allowed to play Sims until I write [insert amount of words/pages here] today!” I don’t know. We’ll see what happens. But right now I have about 45 minutes before I have to go to work, so…I’m going to go play Sims for a bit.
