November 2016 Goals

Reading

As always, with four Saturdays this month, I plan on reading four books. Here are the books I plan to read, in no particular order:

1. Jack Gregson and the Forgotten Portal by Peter Wilson
2. Graven Idols by Jessica Dall
3. Joy School by Elizabeth Berg
4. Corrupted by Lisa Scottoline

Writing

It’s NaNoWriMo time! I’ve decided to write short stories this year so I can focus on editing as well as get a head start on content for the blog for 2017. So, this is what I hope to accomplish in November:

1. Write 50,000-words worth of short stories (hopefully write 52 shorts total)
2. Edit Side Effect (Kris’s novel. She’ll be editing The Lost Girl for me in the meantime)
3. Plan George Florence series (I’m still slowly figuring this one out)

Blogging

I’ve written all my November posts (the ones that can be written in advance, I mean). So anything I work on for the blog will be for December or in prep for 2017.

1. Finish last minute November posts
2. Start on December and January posts
3. Finish the first part of a monthly feature that will begin on November 15 (this has been a slow-going thing as well… I can’t wait for it to be finished)

Overall

Between NaNo, work, the holidays, having a social life with friends and family, and other things, this is going to be an interesting month. A good month, but certainly interesting.

What are your goals for November? Are you participating in NaNoWriMo? Let me know in the comments!

October 2016 Goals

Reading

October is a bit of a long month, so I’ll be reading five books:

1. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson
2. American Dream by Jason Navallo
3. The Cabin by Natasha Preston
4. The Murder on the Links by Agatha Christie
5. We Should Hang Out Sometime by Josh Sunquist

Of course, those books are subject to change. Also, my Reading List was updated with September’s reviews.

Writing

1. The Lost Girl — I need to finish my read-through of what I have so far and then finish writing the first draft by the end of the month.
2. George Florence — I need to map out the entire series and write up the timeline. I’ve tried doing this a few times and each time I got dizzy with all the information. I have to finish it though… Or else those books won’t be written!
3. Prep for NaNoWriMo — I’ll be writing various short stories, but I want to have a list of prompts set up so I don’t get stuck each day.

Blogging

1. Finish October posts.
2. Get a head start on November’s posts.
3. Work on that thing for the end of November.

Overall

I have a lot planned for October. But I’m back into my day job routine so I think October will be much easier to get other work done. I have a clear goal in mind (as usual) and I have pre-NaNo excitement. So I think this will be a productive month.

What are your goals for the month? Let me know in the comments!
