On Tuesday, there was another NaNoWriMo webinar. This time it focused on creating diverse characters in your novels.
Just like the other webinar, it was super informative. I certainly learned a lot. While I agree with diversity, it’s not my strong suit because I tend to mostly write what I know.
This webinar was hosted by author I.W. Gregorio, Miranda Paul, and Dhonielle Clayton. Each of them had their own special advice to give and answered each question in a different way as they all write different diversities and different genres.
NaNoWriMo is the busiest during the month of November. What a lot of people don’t know is that there is a lot going on in October, as well.
Aside from creating your novel, making friends in the forums, and staring at the clock counting down the days, NaNo offers so much more.
I found this out through the ML in my home region. I’m part of three regions (because I don’t understand geography), but only my home region mentioned this.
There are two NaNo prep webinars coming up soon. Even though I noticed it was only posted in my home region (but it could have been posted in other regions as well) I believe the webinars are for anyone who have access to a computer and Internet. And if you’re reading this now, then… well, you’re included.
The fun thing about these webinars is that you can log in (registering for an account is free) so you can be part of the chatroom. Then you can ask questions to the authors in charge.
Here are the details: (please note that times may be different depending on what time zone you’re in)

There you have it. Two webinars to help prepare you for NaNo. I think both are worth watching; especially the diversity one.
The authors themselves just make me want to watch. I love Kami Garcia and Ellen Hopkins, so I’m excited they’ll be part of the webinars.
I hope some of you are able to make it or interested in it at least. I’m sure both webinars will be fun and informative!
