So today was supposed to be a book review. But I didn’t read anything. I went away this past weekend and while I brought two books with me, I didn’t read either one of them. My family and I were pretty busy most of the weekend.
Except we went back to the hotel on Saturday and my parents took a nap. I should have read my book then, but I didn’t think we were going to be in the hotel for that long.
They took a four-hour nap. What did I do in those four hours? Solitaire. I played four hours of Solitaire on my iPad. I did the occasionally Sudoku puzzle as well. But geez… Four hours of Solitaire!
Anyway, I don’t have a book review, which is okay. Books will be back on Saturday.
Needless to say, this is the first time in a long time that I didn’t know what to post about today. I usually have a plan and my posts are written in advance. Not today. Nope.
So, I guess I’ll give you an “update” of some sorts.
Yesterday I mentioned how Kris and I are going to be working an hour a day on one of our novels.
I did it. Yay!
I read through the first five chapters in that hour, which happened to be around 50 pages or so. Like I said, my main focus is to just read through what I have and actually finish the draft for right now.
I did my hour while Kris was at work, so during her hour I started working on a new short story. I wanted to write something, but I didn’t know what so I used last Friday’s Time to Write to get myself started.
I wrote about 1,000 words and I like where it’s going so far. I don’t know if it will ever be posted on here, though. If it’s a good enough short story I’ll probably keep it to submit somewhere. If it turns into a novel idea… Well, then I’m in trouble.
