Title: Mystery Force: Mystery Force Assemble!
Author: Ted Neill
Genre: Children’s, Mystery
Series: Mystery Force, 1
Publisher: Tenebray Press
Publication Date: February 28, 2021
Mystery Force: Mystery Force Assemble! by Ted Neill is a great read for the targeted audience. It’s quick and easy to read as well as easy to understand. There are images mixed in, making it all the more fun and easy to understand.
With unique characters, one who is in a wheelchair, this story is filled with information about disabilities, making it fun. For example, the wheelchair is named Sonya as though she’s a real person, which is cute.
Rasheed, Jonathan, and Josephine set out to rescue mythical creatures who are in hiding. This world is fantastical as most of these creatures (such as unicorns) live among humans. The lesser-known creatures are still in hiding, afraid to show themselves to the humans.
This book is only 100 pages, and you’ll get through it quickly. I did feel as though the pacing was too fast. Some information was spelled out to the reader, while others, not so much. However, it’s a good starting point for kids just branching into chapter books.
