July 2018 Goals

2018 July Goals | Creative Writing | Blogging | Reading | RachelPoli.com

We’re officially in summer which means I’ll be aiming to read two books a week. Book reviews will now be on Tuesdays in addition to Saturdays. I’m a tad ahead in my reading, so feel free to keep up to date through my Goodreads.

Camp NaNoWriMo is here again. I’m sure my writing will get caught up with itself because of this. I’ll be working on George Florence & The Perfect Alibi some more.

I’ll also be working on a special project that I’ve only announced so far to my patrons. If this is something you’d like to be part of and you enjoy my work, please check out my Patreon and consider supporting me through there. It’s as little as $1 a month.

I’ve gotten most of my July posts done. So, when I’m not working on Camp NaNo or reading I’ll be going through my blog and updating old posts and such. It desperately needs it.

What are your plans for the month? Let me know in the comments below! If you liked this post, please share it around.

  1. Good luck with your goals.

I have a medical appointment I need to chase up, but things should be quiet on that front this month, since I should only have the one appointment. Assuming nothing unforseen happens to cause another unplanned hospital trip, of course.

Since I’m nicely ahead on blog posts, I plan to use the bit of extra time I should have in July to catch up on my reading goal a bit. I’d like to get some more of our movies and things packed in to boxes too. Maybe I’ll put my Kindle on while packing, and combine those activities? 😉

Also, among the bit of writing I managed to do in June is the first draft of a children’s story. Not the one I planned to be working on, but never mind. Either way, I plan to work on revising and editing that in July, and maybe also talking to one of my cover artists about sorting a cover for it. If all goes well with that, I should be able to do an August or September release, since it’s short enough that each stage shouldn’t take long. In the meantime, I should be hearing from a couple of my narrators soon, which will mean audio versions of my books to listen to, and – hopefully – approve for sale.

  2. Got Book #8 in my Witch City Mystery series to the publisher three days before deadline and have started work on Book #9. I’ve resolved to work faster on this one and not get rushed at the end. Book #7, Bells, Spells and Murders will release in late September. Books #1 and #2 will be displayed on a special endcap of thirty cozy mysteries in every Barnes & Noble in the country from July 10 to August 20!

  3. Good luck! 2 books a week, wow I can’t even manage 3 a month. Omg you’ve already done July posts? You are so organised 😊

    • I’ve done it the past two summers and I tend to read a lot when I go on vacation for a week so we’ll see how it goes, lol. And I have most of my July posts done… I hoped they’d all be done by now, lol.
