Mystery Month is a feature I created and officially started on this blog in June 2015. So, this will be our fourth annual Mystery Month – a month early. Yeah, I’m changing Mystery Month from June to May, so it’ll be during May from now on.
Mystery Month was created in order to explore the mystery genre, to learn more about it, practice it, and appreciate it. It’s my favorite genre and I thought dedicating a month to it was a great way to celebrate it.
This year, Mystery Month is going to be filled with posts all about the mystery genre.
These posts will include…
- Articles about the genre with advice and information
- A short story series written by me – a new part will be posted every Sunday
- A series of mystery writing prompts every Friday
- Book reviews of mystery books
- Author interviews with two mystery authors
I can’t wait for you all to read what I have planned! I hope you enjoy all the content and it’s informative and entertaining for you.
In the meantime, feel free to talk about the mystery genre on your own blog and share this feature with your readers!
Are you excited for Mystery Month? What’s your favorite genre? Let me know in the comments below! If you liked this post, please share it around.

Sounds… mysterious haha. Good look and looking forward to seeing what May Mystery Month will hold!
Thank you! 🙂
How did Camp go for you?
Terrible! -cries into forever
Oh, no! 🙁 What happened?
I’ve been struggling to write this year. It goes off and on randomly and sometimes I don’t write fiction for weeks.
I get like that too. I barely wrote anything substantial last year. It’s annoying. I hope it gets better for you soon.
Thank you! You seem to be on a roll though! Looking forward to all your work and growth!
Thank you!
Great! Waiting for it! 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
Great idea, Rachel. I think May’s national crime reading month anyway, so this is perfect timing! I’m definitely going to try and take part
I think that’s why I changed it. Last year Goodreads had Mystery Week in May. Then they had it in April this year, lol.
I didn’t know Goodreads had one, but I like that you’re going to post more than just book reviews. I think I’ll try post writing prompts, too
I didn’t know they had one until last year. I’d love to see what you come up with.
Thanks. I’d better start planning 🙂 Can’t wait to read your short story
Thank you. 🙂
Reblogged this on DSM Publications and commented:
It’s Mystery Month on Rachel Poli’s blog. Check out the details in this post from her blog.
Thank you for reblogging!
My pleasure.
Reblogged this on Viv Drewa – The Owl Lady.
Thanks for reblogging!
Sounds wonderful, Rachel. I’d love to join you – my fourth mystery comes out June 1.
That’s great! Congrats!
I love the alliteration of May Mystery Month. It makes me happy. 🙂
Right? Me too. That was one of the reasons I moved it, lol. Also, June has just become too hectic for me and last year Goodreads had Mystery week in May. (Of they had it in April this year…)
Oh, that makes sense. Yeah I think it’s in April.
