August 2017 Goals

August 2017 writing, reading, and blogging goals

Reading

It’s still summer, so I’m going to continue posting two book reviews a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Usually, I write which books I’m planning on reading, but I’ve been getting into different things lately. I don’t want to commit to anything. So, plan on seeing nine book reviews this month!

Writing

I feel weird saying this, but my writing is going to be a little up in the air as I focus on my two blogs.

I plan on slowly working on short stories and articles to submit as well as editing what I already have written (seriously, I have about six manuscripts that aren’t edited).

I’m going to work on my writing a good amount, but my blogging is going to take first priority for the time being.

Blogging

If you’re subscribed to my newsletter, then you’ll know that this blog will be getting a makeover. I’ll still be posting regularly and my content will remain the same as it’s always been.

I’m going to slowly change the physical theme and look of my blog and make it more my own. I’m not sure how long this will take, but I plan on spending all of August on it and then go from there.

Overall

August is going to be the month when things start really getting into motion. I hope, anyway.

What does your August look like? Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I’m hoping to finish a few things this month as well. I’m halfway through the first draft of the third Shifters & Mages novel. The first novel is with a professional editor to get it ready for re-release sometime next year.

I’m also working on getting more organized and planning both my time and projects out better. For that reason, I’ve started working on a bullet journal. I’m not an artsy person anymore, so mine’s not that pretty to look at compared to that of others, but so far, I like it. We’ll see if I continue to do so as time passes.

I’m working on marketing plans for three different novels as well and I’ve started on a completely brand new project I’m keeping hush hush at the moment. It’s a lot, but when I look at word counts, it’s nothing compared to last month… it just sounds like a ton…

    1. Ah, that all sounds great! I’m glad you have a plan for everything. I’m looking forward to how it all comes out. Good luck! And let me know if you need anything. 🙂

  2. I spent all of July writing something every day. Throughout the month, I wrote a few new stories. I wasn’t going to edit them, but I changed my mind.

I want to start posting more stories on my blog. To help with that, I joined a flash fiction group on Twitter. They just started the new month of writing challenges. So I’m hoping to continue to flex and challenge my creativity.

    1. Oh, that’s great! It’s always good to just keep writing whether you plan on doing anything with it or not.
What’s the name of the Twitter group? I’m sure that sounds like a lot of fun!

Let me know what you think!
