I Like Books!

instagram

We all know that this blog is about reading and writing. I talk mostly about writing because that’s what I do, but reading is a huge part of that. I post book reviews weekly, sometimes more, and I talk about bookish things here and there.

Many times I have thought about starting a brand new blog solely for books and reading. I would stop posting book reviews on here and have a separate book blog.

Then I thought to myself, “That’s a lot of work.”

Between posting on here seven days a week, plus posting on Double Jump four days a week, having another blog where I would have to figure out another schedule seemed like a bit much. Plus, I would be obligated to post multiple reviews each week since that’s what the majority of the content would be.

And we all know how I sometimes struggle to read just one book a week.

So, I thought of the next big thing. Something that most people have been doing that I have yet to join in on.

I’ve created a Bookstagram!

Yes, I now have an account on Instagram dedicated to books.

My username on there is RachelP_Reads. Or you can just click on the word “bookstagram” above to get to my profile.

Don’t forget the underscore… It was originally RachelPReads, but I kept reading it as “Rachel Preads.” So I added the underscore in there for everyone’s convenience. (Actually, it was really originally RachelReads, but apparently, there are a lot of Rachels who enjoy reading on Instagram…)

This will certainly be a new little adventure for me and I’m sure it’ll be a lot of fun. I won’t be posting on there as frequently as I do on this blog, but I do hope to post at least a couple times a week.

So, I hope you’ll follow me on Instagram at RachelP_Reads. And, if you have a bookstagram, I can follow you back… I need friends on there.

  1. Hi Rachel I too have an ig account! I’ll follow you sounds a real good one – mine is suzannebowditch and I share different images of my family, travels as well as writing πŸ™‚

  2. I actually have two blogs on my one wordpress site. One for reading/reviewing and one for writing and anything else I’m babbling on about. It works well – after the initial trouble getting it set-up. I’m not on Instagram – yet.

  3. I struggled with this decision. Ultimately went with Pinterest but I’m not loving that so far. Instagram looks fun. Might try it. Sounds like you’ve got a good plan. πŸ™‚

    1. I use Pinterest as well, but that’s more for fun. Instagram is fun too and it’s given me a chance to play around with my camera and new equipment. πŸ™‚
Good luck if you try it out!

  4. Hey Rachel!
There are a few bookstagrams that I follow on instagram. Though there are innumerable accounts solely for books out there but I don’t follow many. This post is quite old so, I hope you already have found many fellow bookstagramers.☺️
I will follow you there. Good luck!πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

    1. Hey! I’m actually still trying to figure out Instagram as I go along, lol. But I have found a few cool accounts, mostly people from WordPress. I’ve followed you back. πŸ™‚

      1. Yes, I just noticed!😊
There are number of books related accounts. With time, I am sure, you will come across them; some of them are really cool.πŸ˜ƒ

Let me know what you think!
