  1. That covers a lot of my list. Only ones I would add are Robert Louis Stevenson and Douglas Adams. Hard to go with popularity though because that shifts so often. Not too long ago Chris Paolini and Dan Brown would be up there, but now those two have kind of faded.

  2. Stephen King and Garth Nix definitely! And also some of the classics, which are really only classics because they were popular and seen as ‘of worth’ for so long :p Dostoyevsky, Boris Pasternak, Tolstoy, Dickens etc 🙂

  3. In terms of number of books sold, James Patterson for sure. But in terms of quality of writing, I wouldn’t include him. I think I’d substitute John Irving.
