Two weeks down, two more to go!
Here’s an update of my second week of Camp NaNoWriMo and my novel,Β The Lost Girl.
The Ups
The story is continuing at a nice pace. I’m sticking to my original ideas and plan for the story. And the characters have (so far) been cooperating.
I ran out of outline (I never finished it before Camp started). This isn’t necessarily an “up,” but I’ve been continuing to write the outline before I start writing for the day. It’s been helping me keep the flow going as I write. So that’s been working out well.
The Downs
I’ve started thinking about the editing process. Already.
I haven’t actually edited anything, but I’ve started thinking about how I want to edit the story and I know what I may leave in, take out, or add later on. This isn’t really a “down,” but I do want to just focus onΒ writing the actual first draft before I go in over my head with thinking about the edits.
Favorite Quote
Tinkerbell flew off of Peter’s shoulder and landed on Grace’s.
“What is she doing?” Grace asked eyeballing Tinkerbell with caution.
“She’s going to help you do something incredible.”

How are you doing with Camp?
Your numbers are amazing.
Thanks. π
Wow for the word counts! That’s amazing! For the edits, have a notebook and try to note down what pops in your head. I find it helps.
That’s a good idea actually. I’ll have to do that. Thanks!
Out of your mind and into the notebook. I find it helps to not forget the edits you want to do without breaking writing momentum π
I’ll definitely do that. Thanks for the advice! π
I dream about those numbers in my sleep. π
You’ll get there!
I’ll try. I need to play some serious catch up.
That’s what weekends are for!
Congrats! You’re doing awesome! π
Thanks!
Wow, your wordcounts are great! I have the same problem with my outline and have to do more of that as I go now, but it’s fun.
Thanks! It’s fun to do the outline as I go along. It keeps me on my toes. π
Just wow you’re flying! Can’t believe how fast you get through words
Thanks! It’s coming along nicely.
How’s your novel coming?
SLOW! About 30K into the edit, but it’s better this draft thank god. Still got some holes I need to fix but hey it’s only a second draft. This break from so much blogging is helping to move it along though so I don’t feel I’ve wasted the opportunity
Oh good! Sometimes slow isn’t a bad thing. As long as it’s coming out better, that’s all that matters.
