Take the main character of one of your novels or shorts and rewrite it switching the gender.
For example, if the protagonist is a boy, change him to a girl. If the main character is a girl, change her to a boy.
You’ll have to change their name, appearance, and some of there characteristics.
The premise of the story will end up changing as well.
It will be cool to see how much actually changes and how many will stay the same.
Feel free to post your story in the comments below. I’d love to see what you come up with. In addition, I’ll post your story and a link to your blog for next week’s Time to Write prompt.
Happy writing!

This is a good trick to see if the (particularly romantic) relationships in the book are problematic. If you change/swap the genres of the characters and the scenes suddenly make you uncomfortable, they were probably problematic to begin with.
I didn’t think of it like that. That would be a fun experiment!
This is something that won’t work in most romances – especially erotica. I wonder how well it would work in my own works. Might have to play around with it. Lucky for me, Puck is a unisex name. 😉
Lol, I’m sure. I don’t know if I want to try it out with George and Lilah. I’m afraid of what may happen.

Imagine the new possibilities. 😀
Good and bad, lol.
I don’t want to think about the bad.
Like stephanie Meyer – she did this with twilight recently. Still need to read that.
Oh yeah, I heard about that. I wonder how that came out?
I have it on my kindle, just one more in the TBR pile!
The TBR list never ends!
I’m so doing this! Great prompt Rachel!
Awesome! Feel free to share it. 🙂
