Short Story Sunday #76

She was doing well all year long. She hadn’t gotten sick once. She maintained her health quite nicely. She never missed a day of work and was always able to keep working on personal projects at home. It was rare she took a break.

Now she woke up that morning with a stuffy nose, her head pounding, and her voice going no higher than a soft whisper. She tried to get out of bed, but the room spun around her. She didn’t want to call out of work, but she had no choice. It was finally catching up to her.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, Rachel Poli is a writer and blogger. She has an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and a bachelor’s degree in English Studies. She enjoys writing young adult novels, middle-grade, and children’s picture books. She is currently working on her first novel.

  1. Wow, that was short… Too bad for my sister, that her version of this real like short story didn’t culminate so quickly. 🙂

Let me know what you think!
