Write, Game, Repeat

I started that new schedule this week. I figured I should try to get myself into a decent routine now to make everything easier when I have to ease back into work and babysitting in a couple of weeks.

For Monday through Thursday (and Saturdays) I want to spend a good chunk of my day writing.

Except I can’t sit down at my laptop for six hours straight typing. I’m sure my fingers would get lazy, my eyes would cross, and headaches would emerge.

If you know me at all, you know I love to play video games.

So for the past couple of days this week I’ve been going back and forth between writing and playing video games.

Kris and I have been doing it together to make it less lonely. We write for an hour then play video games together for an hour. Then repeat.

It’s as simple as that. We get our work done and get to relax and recharge at the same time.

If only I could do that every day for the rest of my life.

Write… Play video games… Repeat…

    • I looove Smash Bros. It’s such a good game! Lately my sister and I have been playing Ocarina of Time.
It definitely keeps the creative juices flowing.

      • I never had an N64 so I didn’t really get into Ocarina. It’s on the 3DS (I have the 3D version of Majora but have yet to start properly) and the WiiU Virtual Console so I could easily get back to it I suppose.

I finished the NES ones and Link to the Past though.

        Favourite Smash character?

        • We’re playing it on the Wii virtual console. We had the N64 version, but never beat it on that one.
Zelda is my favorite my Smash character, but with the most recent one out I’ve been doing pretty well with the Wii Fit Trainer and Charizard. How about you?

          • Usually any of Fox, Marth, Zero Suit Samus or Link. I tried Shulk before but his Monado arts are really hard to keep track of.

Although my absolute favourite is Little Mac. There is nothing more satisfying than building up that meter and getting an instant KO.

            • I’ve been trying to train with Shulk lately; mainly because I like his weapon, lol. Link is really good, too. Little Mac is fun also because of that KO meter.

              • Shulk’s good but you really have to be able to switch between the arts quickly and know exactly what you need for each situation. Being fairly average I find this tough!

I have an 8 year old son so we’ve been collecting the amiibo too.

                • That’s true.
I want the amiibo to collect, but they’re just not something I want to spend my money on at the moment. But someday!

                  • It’s a terrible addiction. I sit there thinking they’re bits of plastic but yet I still search games shops for the rare ones spending £15 a time on each one.

                    • I actually found a tweet one day from the games shop in the city that showed them having one Rosalina amiibo in stock.

I drove 8 miles to buy it.

                      Yes…I know.

                    • In America apparently it’s hell finding some of them. Here it used to be that way but loads better now since Nintendo of Europe actually started making more of the things.

Little Mac amiibos were selling for about £75 on eBay at the start of the year. Plenty of them for the usual £15 now.

                    • Yes, mainly because at least one department of Nintendo actually thought to make more of the thing they’re constantly selling out of.
